Description: The Vitra Design Museum's Miniatures Collection presents classics of modern furniture design "en miniature". Reduced to one sixth of their original size, the reproductions provide a unique insight into the international history of design over the last 150 years. In terms of construction, materials and color scheme, each of the miniatures is modeled on the historical original from the Vitra Design Museum collection. Thanks to the attention to true detail, the miniatures not only make collector's items for furniture lovers, but likewise ideal instruction material for universities and design schools. There are already over 90 models in the Miniatures Collection and it is being added to continually. Each miniature comes with a brochure which provides art-historical information on the background to each design, biographies of the designers, and the production history of the respective chair.
