Description: Geometri is one of Panton's best known textile designs. It was created in 1959 in connection with the design for the hotel restaurant "Astoria" in Trondheim, Norway. There, for the first time, panton designed rooms as part of an overall environment. He attempted to neutralize the classic separation of a room into three parts in favour of unified look with merging room dimensions-an unprecedented concept in the history of design which caused great sensation at the time.
Technical Description: Composed of circles engulfed in squares, depicted in constantly changing positive-negative color combinations. The basic elements of the circle contained in a square appears in three sized in the ratio of 1:4:16. Every new combination of these basic elements which in themselves are very simple, in varying sizes and in the two color combinations, give rise to the diversity of variations. Composed of wool.
